Care and Handling

Your Natural Phocus artwork is made to last for generations. A little care will keep it looking as beautiful as the day it arrived.

When Your Artwork Arrives

Open your package carefully, avoiding sharp blades near the artwork. Inspect your piece right away. If you notice any damage, please photograph the artwork and packaging and contact us at support@naturalphocus.com within 7 days of delivery so we can send a replacement.

Handle your artwork by its edges or frame, and avoid touching the printed surface, since oils from skin can leave marks over time.

Choosing the Right Location

  • Avoid direct sunlight. Archival inks are highly fade-resistant, but prolonged direct sun can still affect any artwork over time.
  • Avoid moisture and humidity. Bathrooms, kitchens near stoves, and exterior walls prone to condensation are not ideal locations.
  • Avoid heat sources. Keep artwork away from fireplaces, radiators, heating vents, and air conditioning outlets.

Cleaning Your Artwork

Framed prints (acrylic glazing): Dust gently with a soft, dry microfiber cloth. For smudges, lightly dampen the cloth with mild soap and distilled water, wipe gently, then dry with a clean cloth. Never use glass cleaners, ammonia-based products, or paper towels, which can scratch or cloud acrylic.

Canvas and framed canvas: Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth or a clean, soft brush. Avoid water, sprays, and cleaning products on the canvas surface.

Paper, no frame: Dust only with a soft, dry cloth, and handle by the edges.

Storing Your Artwork

If you need to store a piece, keep it upright in a cool, dry place, away from direct light. Wrap it in clean, acid-free paper or soft fabric, and avoid stacking items against the printed surface.

Framing an Unframed Print

Paper prints without a frame are mounted to rigid foam board, which makes them easy to frame. Our sizes correspond to standard frame dimensions, so ready-made frames are widely available, or a local frame shop can create a custom presentation. For the best long-term protection, choose a frame with UV-protective glazing.

A Quiet Way In

The work meets you without urgency

Natural Phocus is designed to be encountered slowly. There is no instruction required and no expectation to engage in a particular way. Each visual experience is intended to soften attention, reduce mental noise, and invite a gentle return to the present moment. Whether in a private setting or a shared environment, the work offers space to pause, breathe, and settle, allowing calm to emerge naturally.

This sense of quiet presence is what carries the work into the spaces it inhabits.
