Cool mist drifting through old redwoods, light coming and going between the trunks, and the deep, woody scent of balsam and cedar. This candle pairs Balsam & Cedar with Gentle Giants, a photograph of a wild rhododendron blooming beneath ancient trees in the redwood forests of Northern California.

As it burns, the wooden wick crackles softly, like a small fire at the edge of the woods. Light it when you sit down to work or at the end of a long day, rest your eyes on the image for a few breaths, and notice what settles.

Every Natural Phocus candle pairs one of our landscape photographs with a fragrance chosen to match the place it shows: evergreen for a redwood forest, warm amber for a desert dawn, clean sea air for an evening shore. Together, what you see and what you breathe point to the same moment in nature. We smell every fragrance in person before pairing it with an image.

Light the candle and set it where you can see the label. Let your eyes rest on the photograph for a few slow breaths, and notice one detail you hadn’t seen before: a color, a shape, the way the light falls. When your attention drifts, return to the image. A minute or two is enough.

Before each lighting, trim a wooden wick to 1/8 to 3/16 inch, or a cotton wick to 1/4 inch. For the best burn, let your candle burn for 3 to 4 hours each time, so the wax melts evenly to the edge; this prevents tunneling and helps it last. Keep a burning candle within sight and away from children, pets, drafts, and anything flammable. Stop using the candle when 1/2 inch of wax remains.

Because each candle is hand-poured, slight variations in wax color and fill level are a natural part of the process.

Candles are hand-poured and shipped from Phoenix, Arizona,
typically ship within 2 to 4 business days. If your order also includes a
print, the candle ships separately and may arrive in its own package on a
different day. Each candle is packed to protect the glass in transit, and
you’ll receive tracking information as soon as it ships.

We currently ship candles within the United States only.

Each candle is poured to order. If yours arrives damaged or with a defect, please contact us within seven days of delivery with a photo, and we’ll send a replacement. Because candles are made to order and can’t be resold once opened, we’re unable to accept returns for other reasons.
